Final Fantasy VII Remake – New details unveiled

Thanks to the Japanese magazine Famitsu, we now know several new details about the upcoming Final Fantasy VII remake. Let’s jump right into them!

The first chapter – which is definitely in development for the PlayStation 4, utilizing Unreal Engine 4 the same was as Kingdom Hearts 3 does – will have new areas of Midgar that we can visit. The developers also plan to focus on the storyline of Biggs, Wedge and Jesse to give them more emphasis – new cutscenes and storylines might be seen.

We are surprised that Square Enix plans to have an online component in a way or another for the game – we have no idea what it will be as they didn’t say any other details about it.

Advent Children will also play a huge role in the remake – the voice actors will all return to reprise their role. (Red XIII, however, will have a different voice.) The ATB and the Limit Break systems will be different from the original.

SPOILERS! Cloud will have several hallucinations throughout the remake to show us how insane his character can be. How is this going to work? END OF SPOILERS

That sounds interesting. How will the online component work? That’s the most intriguing part of this batch of new information..
